[ Midorima started off his birthday getting ambushed and invaded by Eichi and his whims. One thing that Tsumugi may have noticed was the addition of a grand piano to their living area. He wouldn't fess up how he found out about Midorima's birthday, but Midorima partially suspects Tsumugi.
Thankfully, Tsumugi does have some leeway as he's the person Midorima gets along with best, whether his suspicions are true or not. He'll deal with Eichi in his own way. ]

- 2019-07-14 09:19 (UTC) - Expand[ It's just a month before the musical goes live. It's practically crunch time, but everybody is still encouraged to take a rest at least once a week. The rest day for the week just so happens to take place during the Cordis cycle. The need to moonlace is definitely there, but Weiss is a little more in control of her emotions today. With the idea of needing to be perfect nagging her constantly, she can't exactly take a rest. It's why she texts Midorima in the morning if she can come over to practice. She has the sheet music with her, and if he's not doing anything else, maybe he can play for her while she sings.
As a means of saying thanks in advance for letting her use this piano, she decides to bring some lunch to his place. The Cordis moon's effects include being hungry all the time, so she assumes that Midorima would want a lot of food, too. She's not an expert in cooking though, so she just drops by a restaurant and orders takeout. There are two servings of linguine carbonara, grilled lemon herb mediterranean chicken salad, and a plateful of baby back ribs in a large paper bag that she brings with her, along with her purse and sheet music. Little does she know that she's also brought along pheromones with her. Just a light scent for now, which seem to make people who pass by look at her general direction.

[ Midorima is doing slightly better now that he's done some.. incidental moonlacing. (More like.. he carried Eichi around and took care of him for a night and managed to get enough chroma to at least stave off energy needs for at least some time.) As soon as Cordis moon is high in the sky again though, he's feeling urges again and like his chroma's running way too low.

(In reality, it didn't make too much of a difference. But Midorima is the type of person who will get stuck between a wall and a truck if a truck is in his preferred route to school and nearly get his ass run over.)

Which meant that he had slept a little more heavily than usual the previous night, though it does appear that he managed to keep in line with his usual sleeping routine, if the dark glasses to the right of his head on his pillow were any indication. He did, however, accidentally leave his bedroom door open a couple of inches by mistake, and through it seeped out the scent he's been doing his best to hide most of the weekend- a potent pheromone release that had already claimed at least one.
For now though, Midorima sleeps flat on his back, his hands folded over his stomach above the sheets, and his tail flattened downward behind the part of his legs against the bed. He has a habit of not moving at all while he sleeps, which had prompted his partner to claim that he looks like a corpse as he does. The addition of a bed on Tsumugi's prompting and insistence (and well-laid casework that it would improve their home's feng shui) didn't seem to change his sleeping habits at all, as he sleeps the same way be it a floor or a hammock, and certainly a bed.

[ tsumugi's had an equally busy weekend, but he's used to keeping his hands occupied even back home. it takes things off his mind, keeping him from stressing out - such as the fact that his unruly hair has been replaced by a jellyfish overnight when the iris moon phased in. getting his right ear pierced with more studs also proved to be a nice enough distraction, and not a lot of people have found out either aside from the person who accompanied him to get them and - it's nice, having a secret that can only be hidden with his hair, jellyish form or no.

Weiss isn't one to believe in luck normally, but after learning about Qrow's semblance and everything bad that's happened to her, she figures that storing up on luck isn't so bad after all. Plus, she really liked what Midorima said about lucky items and him doing the best he can. She's definitely adapted that mentality and pays attention to what her lucky item is for the day.
For today, hers happens to be an escape room. She's never gone to one before! And she'd ask her teammates to come with her, but she knows Ruby will find it annoying and whine every time she can't complete a puzzle. Yang is going to punch a hole in the wall and tell them to escape. Blake... Blake might be okay. And Weiss could just wear a green shirt or something (she probably would not look very good in it) since it's her lucky colour for the day, but with her teammates out of the question as suitable companions, the next person on her list is Midorima.

[It's hard dealing with people vanishing. Eichi has been checking on Midorima an obnoxious amount ever since people started vanishing, trying to disguise it as teasing him, or sending him stupid pictures of food, or himself, or who knows what else. But, when he finds that he can bring others back with touch, it's a little more reassuring. Perhaps too much...

If his phone stops working how he wants it to, he'll just leave it in the closet until he can find someone to fix it. but since they don't seem to know the actual cause of the disappearances, there's still cause for alarm-- and Midorima actually appreciates Eichi's diligence in some ways. Even if some of the stuff he gets sent is completely inane, it's more than obvious by the normal lack of picspam that there's a distinct purpose to it and even if there weren't, it means Midorima doesn't have to be obvious by being the one to check in, so he appreciates it and texts back to each item-- usually with a less than 3 word response of some kind, but for once he doesn't say anything outright mean. (If Eichi tried this on a normal day he'd get a very different response to such texting behaviors..)

Between all of Eichi's hard work doing idol activities— he was on a few different commercials on TV now, interviewed on talk shows, performing— he had to find things he could do to relax that wouldn't make him feel restless, either. Hearing about Midorima's favorite soup had seemed perfect timing. Not only could he find something to do, but he'd practice doing things like this on his own, try something new, and give him his first real thought out gift! He's hoping it gets a cute reaction out of him.

The whole process takes longer than he thought it would. He burns his hands a few times, has to rinse them under water (and deal with Keito's scolding), but after a whole day of fail-runs, he finally succeeds today. So, he texts Midorima as requested, a simple message: Midorima-kun, are you free if I come over right now? No explanation of the soup, or of anything else.
Once he gets the okay, he heads out, has his driver drop him off at the front and then carries the pot of soup carefully out along with him.
