[ So far so good! It's not like they wasted a lot of time to solve the first puzzle. She heads over to Midorima's side so they can get to the next room together.

The next room is a bigger room—the "hallway". They probably would have noticed that they were led to a bunch of other rooms before ending up in where they started if not for the blindfolds.

There are three locked doors, and there are still papers all over the floor. The lights are flickering, and once they close the door behind them, it'll lock automatically. ]

[ Midorima still has the key with him, so the first thing he does is try to see if it's the same key on any of the other locked doors.

It is not. He puts it away in his pocket, just in case. They may have tried to save money at some point and duplicated locks, which will save them time. ]

I take it the papers are going to be our answer to how to open one of these doors.

[schmisse]

[ She starts collecting whatever papers are nearby. ]

There's probably a different pattern, though. And I don't see a briefcase anywhere.

[ One of the doors happen to have a digital padlock, though! So the answer is still probably somewhere in those papers. ]

These are just a bunch of reports... Murder, murder, this guy was shot, and then another murder— [ what's with all these reports...

And then the lights go off and even the background music dies. The white noise is gone. Weiss manages to keep a shriek in, she does get so surprised that she stumbles backwards and hits the wall. ]

What are the victim's names?

[ He's looking at each of the door locks when the lights suddenly go out. He looks around, though it's not as though he can see much.

In fact, it's a few seconds of silence in which he gets out his device to use the dim light as a flashlight to see Weiss having clearly stumbled. ]

You're unharmed?

[schmisse]

Fine.

[ She says it a little bitterly though. She doesn't like surprises... ]

I didn't think there'd be jumpscares here.

[ He tugs at the door that he was looking at to see if it's opened. If the pad is off, then one of them had to have opened, right? No dice. He tries the next one, and the next one. ]

The door's are still locked. Do you see anything to turn the power back on?

[schmisse]

[ She fishes out her device from her pocket to give herself some light. Walking around, she doesn't see anything that could help. No switches on the wall from what she's feeling, too. ]

No, nothing here. I'll go call them.

[ If they're in an inner room, the attendants probably won't be able to hear them, so a phone call is probably best. Except— ]

Phones are down.

[accurately]

[ That.. isn't good. Midorima turns his phone off to conserve power for now. ]

A power outage?

[schmisse]

It looks like it.

[ Maybe... ]

Do you think it's because of me?

[accurately]

No. By being within your lucky item it should counteract your luck.

[ Though later he would say yes, her lucky item protected them because bring outside would've been far worse. ]

[schmisse]

Maybe it's just for a little while, though. We can wait it out.

[ Maybe the company is fixing things now outside! So... it's okay. This is fine, right??? ]

[ He's taking his coat off for them to sit on. ]

[ It's a little difficult to see, so she summons a small Glyph that rotates over her palm. There's some light- literally like the backlight of a small phone- but it helps her get to where he is. She sits down once she's able. ]

Did you have plans today? Aside from being here, I mean.

[accurately]

I try to keep my early day flexible in case of lucky item emergencies, but I won't be able to get practice in if we don't get out of here until much later.

[ Midorima is here now, without Shutoku, he has to practice twice as hard to reach his own standards. :| and he does it every day unless he's experiencing fatigue, then he takes a day to rest his muscles to make sure they aren't over strained. ]

Does it take a lot of chroma to do your glyphs?

[schmisse]

Alright. I'll make sure you get to practice.

[ ... she'll break the doors if she has to, but hopefully it doesn't come to that. ]

Not really. It uses up my Aura, rather than Chroma. Which is good, because I don't have a lot of Chroma to begin with.

[ He was going to offer to assist if she needed help keeping the light on. But he can't help her with aura, he thinks.

Midorima sets his box of cereal down next to him, opposite Weiss. Just as he's about to speak, there's a loud pounding on the door that they came from where the first room was.

"Hey, are you guys okay? We can't unlock the doors without the power and the whole city's having issues, so it may be a while!" ]

[schmisse]

[ She looks at how Midorima reacts to the announcement. She's worried though. What's causing the city to have power issues? ]

Is there something going on outside?

[accurately]

[ Midorima, king of reactivity that he is, just has a stern face about him as he stares at the door. ]

Get a crowbar, then.

[ Let them out?? The guy seems like he's gone though, bye. Midorima is giving this such a bad review on Prelp. ]

[schmisse]

I don't think he's there anymore.

[ Because no one's responding...

She thinks about what to say, then decides to ask- ]

Do you still need a light? [ It's easy to keep a Glpyh active, but she can't do much with her arms... ]

[accurately]

Not right now. [ She can turn it off.. ] Unless you can think of something we need one for.

[ But for now it sounds like they're just stuck waiting.. ]

[schmisse]

We can't really do the escape room, so there's nothing I can think of right now.

[ As much as she wants to get out to inconvenience him less, anyway.

The Glyph disappears, fading into nothing, before Weiss sits down properly with her hands on her lap. ]

Do you want to play a game to pass the time?

[accurately]

What did you have in mind?

[ It will have to be an audio game. Not being able to see is going to make anything else difficult.]

[schmisse]

Well, the first thing I thought of was boring, according to some guy, so... what about a guessing game? Something easy... like, you have to guess what my favourite colour is, then we move on to yours.

[ Weiss is a party animal. ]

[accurately]

Blue. [ Obviously, he thinks. ] What was the first idea you had?

[schmisse]

A math game.

[ Isn't it exciting? ]

I got stuck holding someone's hand once and I suggested that game and he was really, really against it. I thought it would've been fun.
