They get along fine. Kise's picked him up from the groomer for me before. They're both dogs, anyway, and Kise picks up skills just by watching them so I'm sure he can simply look up a how-to video for anything he doesn't know how to do.

[ He has no problem calling Kise a dog. He's a puppy who's overly enthusiastic personality-wise and during Sanguis, overly aggressive and possessive and actually eared.

Midorima serves Weiss and himself a bit of everything once he's seated, in separate bowls and plates since at least two of those are somewhat liquid-y. ]

[ She only knows Kise because she met him once, so she won't pretend they're well acquainted. She can at least imply she knows him by name. It sounds like he and Midorima are friends though; he wouldn't trust anyone he wasn't comfortable with with his pet. ]

Okay, so long as Merlin gets along with him.

[ With the food served, she takes her fork and spoon to prepare to eat. Before that though, she waits for Midorima to say "itadakimasu" so she knows they can both eat. With that done, she starts with the porridge, taking a bite of that first to try. ]

I thought it would be better than leaving him at a dog boarding house, and Tenshouin is allergic to everything.

[ He doesn't want to impose on Akashi, Aomine already has a dog and is lazy af, and no one else he really knows well enough to trust with his dog. Maybe Keito, but Kise's particularly eager to earn his keep, so it's fine. He knows a lot of people, but he's not close to a lot of people.

Though, to prove it, he pulls out his phone and shows Weiss a picture that Kise took of them together. Kise has his wolf ears and the faint glow of Sanguis in his eyes, Merlin is inside his partially zipped jacket with his tongue hanging out. It's very adorable. ]

You'll at least have to ask him for permission and bid him a proper goodbye even if it's just for a few days. He already got left behind once.

[ ... Ah. That almost sounds like what she did to him. She frowns and looks away. ]

... sorry, Midorima.

[ She didn't mean to disappear :( ]

[ He doesn't quite know how to address that. he should.. tell Weiss why it actually made him upset more than worried. He should've been more worried than angry, and yet. ]

We can send them a video call while we're gone so he knows.

[ He finally does the itadakimasu and sets his phone down and takes a bite or two of his portion of omurice first, staying quiet. He hasn't accepted her apology yet. He has- internally, but he hasn't really acknowledged it. So after he finishes that bite he sets his chopsticks down. ]

You didn't do it on purpose. I was mad because I don't want you to leave me behind, but you didn't so it's nothing to apologize for.

[ He pushes his glasses up, then returns to eating. ]

[ Yeah, that sounds food. They can video call! And then Kise will find out Weiss is a nerd because she is going to babytalk the dog over the phone.

At what Midorima says, she gives him her full attention. ]

I didn't. [ She smiles, a pretty big one despite how emotionally exhausted she feels right now. ] I don't want to.

[ That's probably embarrassing to say, but... Weiss doesn't feel at all embarrassed by admitting that. She starts eating now that she thinks that's settled. ]

[ He does blush slightly at that but falls quiet and focuses on eating now!! Because what else is he supposed to say to that anyway.

Eventually he does ask. ]

Do you like the food?

[ By now, she's tried at least a spoonful of everything. ]

It's good. [ Definitely savoury, but she's not complaining. ] Atlesian cuisine isn't like this.

[ The omurice was surprising!!! It's egg and rice inside?? That's so creative! ]

They're Japanese comfort foods. Except that. That was from the restaurant next door in case you didn't want Japanese.

[ He indicates the flatbread. ]

I want to eat it for breakfast tomorrow.

[ They can heat it! For now, she's happy with the porridge and the omurice and the curry. It's actually a lot, and she doesn't intend on eating a lot. ]

[ He doesn't have to cook then /o/ Not that it's really cooking anyway.. ]

I wanted okonomiyaki, but that doesn't work for takeout. We'll go another time.

[ That one they have to be in the restaurant for. Part of that's definitely the experience. ]

Why can't you take it home?

[ Is it big or what... does it melt like ice cream? Wait- that's not breakfast food. ]

It's a savory pancake with cabbage made on a hot table in front of you. You eat it right away. It doesn't keep well.

[ It's really good though, as long as it doesn't end up on your head. ]

"Okonomi" means "how you like it," so it's very customizable. You have to be in the restaurant to get the full experience.

Oh, that sounds good!

[ She wants to try it... Midorima had her at pancakes. Saying "savoury" made it even better. Yum. :9 ]

I guess that makes sense. Let's try it another time.

I'll find a good place.

[ Midorima will go around sampling all the okonomiyaki in town.. or at least read Pelp reviews. ]

Great. I don't think I can eat any more now, too.

[ Her food is mostly done. She actually didn't eat much of the rice, focusing on the porridge and the curry and the egg in the omurice. Too much carbs? Yeah... but she's also a little full. ]

I may have ordered as if the Cordis moon were up.

[ He wasn't sure if she would like everything, though. But even he has barely eaten anything off of his plate. 'u' Because he eats like a birb, when it's not Cordis moon, he's got to fight to finish a full bowl of rice. There are a lot of leftovers, but it was out of concern more than out of hunger. ]

I'll clean up.

[ And he gets to doing that. He at least has bought some tupperware since moving in so he can store all the leftovers properly. ]

Let me help.

[ Oh my god Midorima please eat... Weiss gets up and tries to help too, tailing Midorima and getting a towel so she can wipe the table and all that. ]

[ He's fine!! 'u' He eats like this all the time and then drinks red bean soup like the goober that he is. He puts on gloves properly to clean up, then offers her a pair if she wants them. ]

Do you want to wash dishes, store food, or wipe the table?

[schmisse]

[ He already has the gloves on. He may as well wash the dishes. ]

You can wash the dishes. I'll take care of the rest.

[ She shakes her head at the offered gloves. She's fine with her hands! ]

[ He's gonna wear the gloves no matter what he does. To protect his fingies!! he puts the extra pair away and goes to work washing up. ]

[ Weiss cleans up with bigger movements so she can work faster. It's not because she's antsy to finish everything and get this over with, but she wants to take care of the dishes once she's done. In case Midorima's not yet done once she's finished with the food and the table, anyway. But if he is, she waits by his side and fiddles with her device. She's already apologised, but she responds to every message he's sent her, evidently ending with a "Shintarou Midorima" on her end. His own device will probably start beeping like crazy at this point. ]

[ After the third one he checks, he gets annoyed and turns around at her. ]

Stop texting me, I'm right here!

I'm responding to each one! I don't want to not acknowledge all of these texts.
