And yes, she actually does put pants on for this. Well, not pants, exactly, but leggings. In the end, she's a lot more comfortable with a skirt, and she only just realises that her only pair of pants is in the laundry. She doesn't really want to wear her yoga pants??? That'd be weird.

What's also weird is that she's being offered a helmet. Have you seen her hair, Midorima? She keeps it up! She looks a little unsure as she takes it. She doesn't... really say anything before she removes the pin from her hair, letting her hair down, so she can put the helmet on, though. ]

Is your extra helmet really my size?

I bought it on my way over here. Adjust the straps if you need to.

[ It's not like he naturally has a second helmet?? Who is he going to bike around? Just his lucky items.

(Though let's be real, he probably has a small helmet for any stuffed animals.) ]

[ She does need to adjust the strap a little, but once she's set, she looks over at where she's supposed to sit and then positions herself. ]

Okay, I'm ready.

[ And secure!!! Time to get some burgers. ]

[ With the Package secured, Midorima starts pedaling!! It's still weird to be in this position. He has half a mind to tell Weiss that she needs to play him for it, but that mostly just makes him get a pit in his stomach because despite himself, he misses Takao. At the first stoplight he asks her. It probably seems out of nowhere, because he sure isn't sharing the context of his question. ]

What would you do if your partner wasn't here?

[schmisse]

[ It does seem out of nowhere, and Weiss looks at Midorima with some concern from the back. ]

Ruby wasn't here the first month I arrived. I managed fine. It was nice to have her here, though. The rest of my teammates, too.

[ It's not like she... moonlaces with Ruby or anything. Not to mention— ]

I'd be more worried if I were back in Remnant without her, really. But in this place... [ She cuts off there, not really sure how to properly word what she wants to say. It's not really a conversation meant while on a bicycle. ] nevermind.

Why do you ask?

[ Midorima has had plenty of weird conversations on a bicycle. Maybe not quite like this-- he's usually in a rear car, after all. But it's close enough that he can't help but think of it. He doesn't really glean much from her answer, but he more or less agrees. He's managing, of course. But Weiss's experience is different. He wants Takao to get over here-- not even so he can moonlace, he just selfishly wants his friend here even if it completely disrupts his life and ruins his morals. If he has to go through it, Takao should have to go through it.

He chooses to just answer her question. ]

Being here is the first time I've had to bicycle since middle school. Takao and I played rock-paper-scissors for who would pedal and who would ride and he always lost.

[schmisse]

[ She can't exactly look at Midorima's facial expression from where she is, but it's difficult to tell how he feels in the first place... Weiss is learning a little about him, though. Of course it interests her. ]

Your best friend?

[accurately]

Of course not.

[ yes. ]

He's my partner in basketball. That's why I was asking about that. [ Keep up with his narrative of this conversation Weiss!! He pedals a little faster. ] Off the court, he follows me around and does my bidding. A manservant, if anything.

[schmisse]

Ruby's not just my partner. And she doesn't do those things...

[ But that's something she would never admit to Ruby's face. Or to anyone else, really. In fact, when she says that, it comes out as a grumble than an actual statement.

She pedals a little faster to match the pace. She can't exactly pedal slower... ]

Do you really need someone like that? [ Why does Midorima need a servant...??? ]

I don't need anyone.

[ In other words, anyone in his life is in his life because he wants them there. But that's way too embarrassing to say. He seems to remember she's biking back there too and slows back down. His legs are way longer, he doesn't want to give her a hard time. ]

Off the court, anyway. I don't trust anyone more than I do him on the court.

[ Akashi is... equally trusted, but that's complicated, whatever. ]

[schmisse]

[ It's too bad Midorima doesn't clarify, because what he says is totally confusing and leaves Weiss looking at her hands. Is she supposed to be here?? Does he even want her around? She's so confused. ]

How did the two of you become partners?

[ She'll just focus on the person rather than the bigger picture. Besides, this is the most MIdorima has talked without prompting.

I destroyed him in middle school and made him quit basketball, but he couldn't leave it at that and vowed to destroy me in high school, only for us to end up on the same team. I ignored him, but he kept staying after when I would practice after the rest of the team left. Eventually he changed that determination to force me to acknowledge him rather than to beat me.

[ It's probably an odd story to someone who didn't live through it-- who didn't realize how Midorima used to be. ]

I wasn't always as open to accepting others into my life as I am now, so that took longer than it should have.

[ This is open, nice Midorima.

He slows down as they approach a place called Burger Brosis. ]

[ Midorima, that's gay. ]

Would you say he's made you a better person?

[ Wow Weiss, going hard on that. ]

There were a lot of circumstances that opened me up to my team. [ Okay, no, don't deny it it's a serious conversation. He clears his throat slightly as he breaks the bike right in front of the racks and waits for Weiss to get off first, since she's in back. ] A boy named Kuroko opened me up to trusting others; Takao was the person who taught me how to again.

[schmisse]

Oh. I know him! He's that guy with the blue hair, right? The... other one.

[ Not Aomine!

She gets down and fixes her skirt, all the while looking at Midorima. ]

He knew me, for some reason.

Light blue hair.

[ Midorima thinks for a moment. It doesn't sound unfamiliar, even if the reasoning should be. ]

Akashi mentioned that he and I used to live in another world. Perhaps it's the same one. I don't remember that either.

[schmisse]

Another person mentioned that, too.

[ Mayuzumi, who is somehow more forgettable because he doesn't have blue hair. ]

Oh- Is Kuroko still here? I haven't seen him since that day he arrived.

I don't believe so. He's easy to lose track of, but he would've made his presence known by now if he were still here.

[ Kuroko is unnoticeable, but he does make himself noticed intentionally before too long. ]

[schmisse]

Oh.

[ That's unfortunate. Not that she knew him well or anything... but she wanted to know more about why he knew her. ]

I hope he's okay.

[accurately]

He's tougher than he looks.

[schmisse]

I wouldn't know, but I'll take your word for it.

[ There aren't that much people, so they're able to get a table easily. And she's 100% going to eat a burger with a knife and a fork... why is this like deja vu with our characters. ]

Is someone coming over or do we have to order at the counter?

[accurately]

[ He gestures to the counter. There's a bit of a line, he was waiting for it to die down. ]

The counter, but they'll bring it to the table.

[schmisse]

[ They're handed laminated menus while they wait, and the server tells them to order at the counter. Weiss got her answer from Midorima, but the waiter's timing is pretty perfect, too.

She goes quiet as she goes through the menu. She's particularly craving for a burger with blue cheese, bacon, and mushrooms... so hopefully this restaurant has it! ]

I wonder what's in their secret sauce.

[ The burger place is kind of a 'build your own burger' sort of place. You can pick what kind of meat base you want (hamburger, turkey, chicken, salmon, and a few other native Primsatican options), then add on whatever ingredients you want. Midorima decides on a burger with an egg, lettuce, tomato, and caramelized onion. ]

I suspect it's a secret. Ask if you can taste it before you put it on your burger.

[schmisse]

[ Weiss is plenty set with her order, but she asks for secret sauce on her burger, too. She's curious!! ]

Midorima, what do you call the bread at the top of the burger?

[ This is gonna be a bad joke please ignore it if you know what's good for you..................... also totally heard the joke from Yang and she wants to tell it too??? ]
