[ ..Though Midorima is probably a different story, but his experience is people get annoyed and argue with him and he's definitely not trying to charm anyone. ]
[ He's going to ignore the fact that he just doesn't like this. Don't charm people in front of him, he'll get jealous grumpy. Grumpy enough that he only barely glanced at the ornaments Kise got. But oh well.. he'll look later.
Midorima squeezes the donut toy in his pocket to increase his luck (or maybe just soothe himself) and heads into the next booth. There's a wide variety of knick-knacks, so he's going through and finding the oddest things he can. ]
[He will do his best maybe it will net him an angry, jealous kiss.
Kise bounces off to the next stall as well, just looking around. There's not much to see, mostly random, colorful pillows, scarves, a bunch of clothes (they don't need that). He stops at the stall that sells dreamcatchers though. A conversation ensues ("Oooh! Your stand is so colorful! You work here all the time? It's so cool!" 'insert thanking, explaining, showing off the trinkets etc. etc.' "You think these work? Cool! Oh, what about those~?"), before he ends up with several dreamcatchers and cute paper lanterns. He's actually taking one of the dreamcatchers for himself so he didn't mind paying for it. Lanterns were sold in "buy two, get one free" deal so of course he got it.]
[ Midorima's exploration of the stall he's at is much more quiet. He ends up negotiating through less friendly means.
In fact, while Kise is in sight, he flat-out says that Kise is terminal and he wants to get him something to make him truly smile, as all of his current smiles are just him attempting to hold onto the sunlight. The three-foot tall wombat statue in question is his favorite animal, and it will surely keep him company as he needs to spend more and more days in the hospital as his body shuts down.
When Kise comes back over, the lady he was chatting with cries and pats him on the shoulder and calls him brave, and Midorima walks away with the wombat. ]
[So Midorima's strategy is pure lying. No wonder he's gotten into trouble a lot. And he's close to getting into trouble now too because Kise gives the lady a confused look. Brave?]
Ahh...ha, thanks? Oi, Midorimacchi, wait. [He gives a little bow to the woman, out of respect and rushes after him, sneaking glances behind him.]
...that's a big, uh, sculpture? Why was that woman crying though? [He's kind of worried.]
[ He at least saves it for when he really wants and can't get something. There's no way he can afford that wombat statue on his own right now. If Kise comes with him again, they'll have to share about his miraculous recovery. ]
I told her you were terminally ill.
[ Flat-out. Though quietly at least, so that he's still quiet enough that they don't get busted. ]

[Midorima doesn't even try to be nice and charming so yeah, he can't speak.]

[What the hell is Midorima talking about!?]
Oi! Was that really necessary!? I would've given you chroma! Hell, we could've made some right here!
[He gets a look for the last one and the keeps his voice down-]
You can't just spread lies like that! I am a famous model even if it doesn't seem like it! Imagine if the press heard that!
[Good lord, that would've been... no. Kise doesn't want to think about it.]
