[ It's!! Romantic!! He's doing his best.

Midorima picks up Merlin, who is underneath the table, and sets him in his lap. Merlin doesn't whine for food or anything, but he is attentively staring at it while Midorima eats. ]

... I've certainly never been surprised like this before.

[ Maybe she'll find it romantic later on. For now, she's a little nervous. Maybe a little excited. It's hard to tell! Her bites are small as she eats though, more into the fruits than the pancakes. ]

Are there going to be a lot of people there or something?

[accurately]

No. It will just be the two of us.

[ Once Midorima eats about a pancake and a half, he's done. He doesn't eat much when it's not Cordis. ]

[schmisse]

[ If she were in a better mood and if she were sure Midorima wouldn't get mad at her, she would've said something about how this sounds like a plot to a murder novel.

Midorima would really yell at her if she said that... ]

I can clean up if you're done. [ He needs to shower, anyway. . . so!! Leave this to her. ]

[ yeah definitely, he'snot a murderer ;o; ]

You can. I'll go clean myself.

[ He really wants to shower, but he wanted to eat the food while it was hot too.. ]

Leave these pancakes out, I'm taking them with us.

[ The ones they weren't eating are his lucky pancakes ok!! They specifically don't have anything on them so they say dry and bready. ]

[schmisse]

[ Oh. That's still a lot of leftover pancakes... And he's not going to eat them all salkgh right... well, okay. ]

Should I put them in a different container, or will these do?

There's a lunchbox in the pantry closet.

[ It's a small closet, but it's the only one in there, so it won't be too hard to find. The bathroom is just around the corner, so Midorima just heads on over to the bathroom to take care of his sweaty stank.

Later, he'll come out in a towel. ]

[schmisse]

[ Yes, stop being sweaty, Midorima. In the meantime, Weiss busies herself with cleaning up. It doesn't take long, so once she's done and has also prepared the pancakes, she heads back up to Midorima's room to sit down and go through her device as she waits. ]

[ Midorima is fastidious in the shower, but quick from habit. It doesn't take him long to finish up, and he comes out in his towel and checks in on her before heading upstairs to get his clothes. She seems fine, so he doesn't bother saying much. He comes back down in a t-shirt and dark brown slacks. He goes back to the bathroom to blowdry his hair, then comes out. ]

Do you want to brush Merlin's teeth?

[ He'll do it if she doesn't want to, but he knows she likes to do things with the dog. If she wants to do that, he can make sure all the windows are locked before they leave. ]

[schmisse]

I don't know how to do that.

[ Guess who's never had a pet before...

Midorima, get a better t-shirt, though. ]

[ Wow, it's an adorable sea pancake??? Let him live. ]

You hold his mouth open and use his brush and the peanut butter flavored toothpaste. I'll do it, you make sure all the windows are locked.

[ He'll show her another time. ]

[schmisse]

[ Excuse me, what. ]

Peanut butter?

[ SHE SOUNDS SO WORRIED. ]

Peanut butter flavored. It's a flavor dogs like.

[ He goes into the bathroom and comes out with toothpaste and a tiny orange toothbrush to show her. Merlin looks like he's excited over a treat. ]

[schmisse]

[ Oh!! OH... The dog looks so excited, too. Weiss still doesn't know how to brush a dog's teeth, but that's fine. Midorima can do it and she can check the windows. ]

Merlin, you have to behave yourself for me, alright? Midowima's just gonna bwush youw cute widdle teeth and I'll pwobabwy be dewicious!

[ Weiss's baby talk is always a case of second-hand embarrassment. He goes to take Merlin from her as she finishes up her cooing and goes to put him in the sink. That way if he dribbles he doesn't get it all over the place. ]

He hates the feeling but loves the toothpaste. It's good he has a small mouth.

[ He puts gloves on before he starts to protect his hands, then gets to it. ]

[schmisse]

[ So long as Merlin is excited, then good for him. While Midorima's attending to the dog, Weiss gets to work on checking if the windows are closed or not. This time, rather than using a chair or a stool, she hops on a Glyph to get up there if needed! ]

[ There's some scrambling as Merlin tries to back his head away from the tootbrush and knock the paste onto the sink, but Merlin blocks him from it any time he succeeds. No treat unless he cooperates. It takes a few minutes, but eventually Merlin's teeth are clean and Midorima sets him on the floor again so he can rinse out the toothbrush and remove his gloves. He goes to get Merlin's leash from there so they can prepare to leave. ]

[schmisse]

Can I be the one to hold the leash?

[ When they head off to Kise's and all. She'll at least have one hand for either her luggage or Myrtenaster's case... Midorima can carry the other one. ]

[ He holds the leash out to her in response, not verbally confirming. There's no sense in it, since he can just pass it over. He does lean down to give Merlin two headpats though, to let him know that he isn't just abandoning him. ]

Let me grab my bag and we can go.

[schmisse]

[ Weiss still has her luggage by the door, so she goes ahead with Merlin downstairs to get ready. She figures she'll ask Midorima about her bag later on, once he's ready. She can be the one to carry Myrtenaster.

Once Midorima is downstairs and ready to go, Weiss merely gestures to her own luggage and waits for him to take it. Pleaaaaase Midowiiiiin. ]

[ Midorima stares her down for a moment, but he supposes since she's got Merlin he for once won't argue. ]

There's a taxi on the way.

[ They're not walking all the way to Kise's to drop the dog off carrying all of Weiss and Midorima's combined luggage. He's got an entire bag for potential lucky items, okay??? ]

[schmisse]

[ Midorima likes to walk! She thought they would be walking to Kise's regardless of how much they're carrying. Taxis are good, though.]

It's still so strange to me that you can call for cars through an app.

[ That shit doesn't exist in Remnant... ]

We wouldn't have had to travel through a whole continent by foot if something like that existed.

You don't have cars?

[ Weiss needs an off-road vehicle at minimum to save the world in a timely fashion. It's a miracle they've made it in time for anything. ]

I know what a car is! [ Said all too quickly. Damn this guy. ] But we don't have apps or anything that'd make a car come whenever we want to.

I didn't say you didn't. You've been here long enough that much is obvious, I don't know what exists in your world.

[ He wasn't being an asshole this time!! ]
