[ That she needs to be told to behave gives him hesitation to be honest.. but he'll focus on the food. Once the bowls are out, he pours them both some cereal and then pours his milk, then goes for Weiss's bowl. ]
That's something I usually tell others. You don't have to worry about me.
[ For now, it's breakfast time!! Cereal isn't her usual kind of breakfast, and cornflakes are usually bland, but this isn't bad. This particular experience, anyway. ]
[ Breakfast is quiet. Weiss initiates small talk every now and then, but the silence isn't awkward. At least, Weiss doesn't feel the need to constantly say something just for there to be something to talk about. She's pretty comfortable around Midorima to begin with, so it's fine if they're quiet as they eat.
The escape room isn't that far from Weiss' apartment. It's near PrismaPlace, which is easy to travel to, and they get there just a little past after it opens. There are a couple of rooms that aren't reserved yet which they can play in, like a hospital-themed room (which is supposedly the scariest, but in terms of difficulty, it's 3.5/5), a candyland-themed room (4/5 difficulty), and a prison break kind of room that's 5/5 in difficulty.
Weiss doesn't want to do anything with jumpscares, even though the hospital one seems easiest. Candyland is... a no, and prison break is fine? She's not sure — ]
Do you have a preference?
[ Midorima's her partner in this game, so!! She'll get his opinion first. ]
[ Midorima doesn't find it awkward either. He's the quiet type of person, usually only speaking if he has something he believes is important to say or if someone else prompts it first, either through action or their own words. He likes that Weiss doesn't get weird about the quiet and try to fill it unnecessarily. It's comfortable and it makes him less awkward by extension.
He does comment on a cafe he'd be interested in trying sometime on te way there, but otherwise the walk is likely just as quiet except for small talk. When they arrive, he has to consider which is luckiest. ]
The ability to utilize a lucky item to its fullest is the most adequate way to obtain luck, so the highest chance of getting the most out of your luck would be the easiest option. However- [ He points to the prison break room with his now marginally emptier cereal box. It isn't as if he minds the Candyland one- he'd be fine with it. However, his reasoning. ] Putting forth the most effort would make the luck much more effective as you've done more to earn it.
We can try the hospital one, and if we still have time, we can do another one. I don't want to take up your entire day.
[ The projected time to finish a room is an hour, apparently. Weiss isn't sure what the experience will be like, but she's aware she's clever and smart so she may be able to figure things out pretty quickly. Who knows, though... ]
[ Two sounds like a double-challenging. And she's putting in so much effort, of course he won't say no. He likes it when Weiss puts in effort like this. He's stepping toward the prison break room first. ]
[ She assumes he's going to hang out with her most of the day, then. They can do two!
The attendant actually tells them that they can't enter yet, and they have to be blindfolded before coming in. Weiss looks a little hesitant given the idea, but lets the attendant put an eyemask over her face. Midorima is too tall, so he's given the eyemask and he has to put it on on his own.
They're then led into the "hospital, and the background music is only slightly creepy because there's none. It's quiet, with occasional heels clicking against the floor. ]
[ Midorima isn't a fan of needing to be blindfolded, but he slips it on underneath his glasses. It's less likely to smudge them underneath than over ok... But it now also looks extremely goofy. But Weiss is also blindfolded so it doesn't matter. ]
Can we take it off yet?
[ He can understand why it's on though. It's creepy just to be able to see and hear nothing.. ]
[ The attendant says they can remove the blindfolds once they hear a siren. He then leaves the room.
The siren plays about ten seconds later, and what they'll find themselves in is a small clinic with dim and blinking lights, papers all over the floor, and some weird splatter on the walls. They're supposed to find their first clue in there, then exit the first room.
Weiss sighs upon removing the blindfold. The lights are a little annoying, but she can work with it. It's creepy and very eerie, but she's not afraid. Though if there are jumpscares later on, that's a different thing... ]
I think the timer's started. We should start looking.
[ Once the siren goes off, Midorima calmly removes his blindfold and tucks it into his pocket. It may come in handy later for.. who knows what. It seemed unnecessary to blindfold them coming in, in his opinion.
The lights are definitely annoying, but at least the siren isn't still going off. The most horrifying thing though.. ]
This "hospital" absolutely would not meet medical hygiene and safety standards.
[ But he's going to head over to some of the papers on the floor to start gathering them to see if there's anything useful on them.. ]
I'm pretty sure this isn't a hospital that's still being run.
[ Even though there's noise and all... ]
Maybe it's run by quack doctors?
[ Is she joking? Who knows. She's only partly serious. She's trying to lighten the mood! While Midorima is focusing on the papers, she checks out the doctor's desk for anything important. ]
[ There's something about the papers, but he's not sure what it is yet. They all have different lab report numbers at the top, maybe that's a clue of some kind? The contents themself just seem to be about some kind of gene-splicing nonsense that probably has to do with the story. ]
[ The case numbers have letters mixed in, and one bolded. He does notice all the bolded numbers seem to be in different positions, one through six, even though there are only five sheets.
NGX2983F NGX140122X NGX12009Y NGX87084L NGX91393B
He stares at the bolded digits, concerned for a moment before he has an idea. Maybe instead of "y," 25? That's the 25th letter of the English alphabet. ]
[ She brings the briefcase to where Midorima is just so he can see and make sure she doesn't make any mistakes. Weiss is always careful and attentive, so she inputs the numbers the same way Midorima says them, though. ]
[ There's even a click that can be heard after Weiss tries the combination. The brief case opens to reveal more files—something about a patient with a bullet close to his heart but the doctor saying he's fine and he doesn't need surgery and stuff. Huh!

[ She thinks Ruby's going to try and impress Midorima. She's weird like that.
She takes a seat in front of him and offers him a bowl and a spoon. There's a plateful of oranges, apples, and sliced bananas, too. ]

[ It's just habit for him to be bossy!! :) Either way, it's time for him to eat his cereal so he's going to do so quietly unless Weiss interrupts. ]
