[ True enough, she comes by at around 8:30, when it's already cool in the streets and the residential area is fairly quiet. ]

[ He already eaten and changed into his jogging clothes (a t-shirt and active pants) by the time Weiss arrives, waiting with Merlin in his lap. He answers the door shortly and holds the dog and leash out to her with his hands. ]

What if I wasn't the one outside your door?

[ Unlikely, because Merlin knew. She takes she leash and pats her thigh so Merlin will come up to her and get a headpat. ]

Merlin's reaction to your arrival is different than it is for anyone else. His eyes get very wide, his tongue hangs out of his mouth, and he spins when he's on the floor.

[ A happy yip from Merlin as Midorima sets him down so he can follow Weiss's direction. Merlin was in his hands, so he could feel the twitching desire to spin even if he hadn't been on the floor. ]

So I always know when it is you.

[ What???? That's so cute!! Weiss kneels and fishes out a dog treat from her pouch to give to Merlin. Yes, she carries dog treats everywhere now. She's never tried a dog treat (thank god for that), at least. ]

Hewe you go, little guy! You'we awways looking out fow me, huh?

[ This is how Midorima knows that Merlin is her favorite person. No boyfriends can compare. He hopes to find a love as strong as theirs one day. ]

He knows who spoils him most, anyway.

If you wanted a treat too, all you had to do was ask, you know.

[ One day, Midorima will find true love.

Okay, now that she's back up, she tugs on Merlin's leash so he can get to walking. ]

Come on. It's actually a cool evening, so it's nice to walk around.

I'll get one on our walk.

[ They can walk up to Merlin's store. The store owners know him and will pack the rear car up for him when Midorima sends him. It is a ridiculous system they've come up with. ]

You don't need to convince me. I used to walk home from practice every day in Tokyo.

What was it like? When you would walk home from school?

[ Was it like this? Are the Tokyo streets as cool, as quiet, et cetera? ]

Quiet, except for Takao. Darker than it is here. There were lights, but they weren't quite as vibrant. [ Prismatica is so colorful.. ] We would get dinner on the way home, or stop by a vending machine if it was too late for that.

What time did you usually finish from school, anyway?

[ Classes in the afternoon, she assumes he stays late because of basketball? ]

Classes got out around four, practice finishes around 6. Takao and I typically stayed after for additional practice. The amount of time depended on how many of my shots I was able to get in during regular practice and if we were trying to learn something new or focusing on honing existing skills.

[ So they left after almost everyone else, but it was never a specific time so much as as much time as they needed. ]

They made us go home on time during exams, though.

[ Yes, Made him. ]

It's important to keep your grades up, even if you're doing well in your extra-curricular activities.

[ She nods. That's very understandable! ]

That's so late, though... When do you do your homework, and what time do you normally sleep?

Of course.

[ He looks at her. Weiss, he is too serious he doesn't really like screw around afterward.. He's also on the PE committee. ]

After dinner when I get home. I go to sleep when I'm finished, typically around 11. I wake up for Oha Asa at 6am. [ Before she asks, but it seems like the next question to him. ]

[ Midorima is good at time management. Ohhhh momma... He knees feel weak. Merlin might have to carry her home. ]

That's not so bad. I'm glad you get enough sleep. [ Weiss likes to sleep early, herself! She likes to start her day early too, after all.

Though she figures that's enough small talk for now. Sometimes, she's not sure if she should bring up more stuff about Remnant to him. He probably doesn't like it—she's not sure—but she wants to be open with him. ]

Do you remember what I said when I came back before my birthday? About what it's like back home?

[ On the contrary, Midorima wants to get to know her better. But it doesn't feel like his place to ask a lot of the time, since it is such a sensitive topic. ]

Yes, I recall. Why?

[ Did she learn something more? ]

Winter went back to Remnant, I think... I couldn't contact her yesterday or today.

[ She doesn't look that upset anymore, at least. More like she just wants him to know what's going on. ]

We might become enemies. I'll find out if she gets back.

[ Midorima looks over to Weiss for a few moments in silence. Even if she doesn't looks upset, it sounds like a difficult situation. Perhaps because she doesn't look upset that she's separated from family, Midorima is a little more worried than he would be otherwise.

He reaches his handover to put it on top of her head. One of the first moonlacing gestures they'd done, he hopes it will be comforting. Weiss definitely gets special treatment compared to everyone else he knows... ]

[ This was how it was before, too. When she was upset or she'd told him some bad news, he did the same thing. Midorima's not as affectionate as Weiss would like, but she can tell he's trying. This is appreciated a lot.

She might be holding Merlin's leash in one hand, but she reaches up to touch Midorima's hand with her free one. ]

[ Midorima hesitates for a moment, then takes her hand and holds it between them while they walk. He will allow this in public since Weiss needs it... ]

[ >:( he should allow it no matter what!! ]

If she comes back in three days, then I'll let you know, too.

You can call me to come over if she is non-cooperative.

[ He'll be there for her! He can't do anything if her sister comes to arrest her or whatever but he can shame her and threaten to make her go viral on Prismagram by shaming her and asking Eichi and Kise to share it. (He wouldn't ask Weiss to.) But he can at least be there for her since he can't protect her in any way. ]

[ She's not really sure what that would do... But she appreciates the offer, anyway. ]

... to be honest, I'm not sure how I would handle things if she decided we would be enemies now.

If she does that I'll talk to her myself.

[ She's a protector of the people allegedly, she won't attack him even if she could easily kill him. He would have some very firm words for her if that were the case. ]

Isn't that a little too overboard?
