Do you dabble in Dunamis?

[ He's been here for some time, she thinks. By now, if he does practice Dunamis, he should be good at it. ]

I started recently.

[ Unfortunately, it's emotions based and Midorima isn't very honest with his emotions so it's taken him some time to find any footing. ]

I've been working on growing clover. It was something I managed the first day I arrived here, but I haven't been able to replicate it. The more common effects I'm able to replicate I seem to have more control over but not to do anything significant.

[ Because he thinks he's doing something other than what he's doing and keeps trying to do something he's not actually doing... He's focusing on accomplishing more than feeling too. Midorima just needs a nudge in the right direction when it comes to emotions sometimes and he doesn't have Takao here to laugh at him and call him on his shit. :( ]

It takes some time, but if you're able to make something grow out of nothing, that sounds amazing on its own.

[ Considering... her brand of Dunamis is different in that she can create and manipulate elements, but being able to create life is something she's never been able to do.

Often times, she finds herself jealous of people who can do other things with their emotions, but Weiss eventually tells herself that she shouldn't be so reliant on it in the first place. She was fine without them in Remnant. She shouldn't be depending on new abilities to be able to get anywhere. ]

Can I see yours in full sometime?

[ He's happy to brag about himself, but he can't actually do it properly to show off yet, so he's going to move onto her. He's only seen hers incidentally- the ice when she walks, or little flurries. He wants to see hers properly. ]

In full? What's that supposed to mean?

[ Do you want her to get all angry and freeze half of your body, Midorima... ~~all you have to do is call her tiny~~ ]

It's not much to look at. Most of it is ice.

[ He tries to think of how to explain this.. ]

I've only seen you use it incidentally. Even if it's just ice, it's of interest to someone from a world without any of this.

[ Maybe don't freeze him, just make it snow or something cool :T Though maybe that's too much to ask. He's well aware that this is done by focusing on emotional reactions. ]

It's not necessary if you aren't comfortable.

[ It does require a lot of concentration of emotion, but Weiss has done it before. It's fine. And also because he asked so nicely, for once. ]

[ He's not looking for her to go Mr. Freeze on the restaurant. He gets about 2/3 of the way through his crepes and is done with them, focusing instead on finishing his tea now. ]

I wasn't thinking of doing it right now, anyway. If you have time after this, we can head to the park. Otherwise, I can show you another day.

[ Weiss, on the other hand, finishes her crepe. She enjoys the food here because they're light snacks. The coffee is good, too. She definitely prefers buying coffee from cafes than making her own. ]

[ He likes it, but he knows he probably shouldn't eat too many snacks. ]

I can go. [ Because Weiss obviously doesn't want to be alone anyway. ] Will Zwei be coming?

[ He doesn't know her life, he's only ever seen Weiss at the park with Zwei. ]

Zwei is... He's with Yang. She's Ruby's sister.

[ It's probably better that Zwei stick with Yang for a bit just so she's a little less lonely. The blonde took the news a bit harsher than Weiss thought she would. Weiss would want to be with Yang and make sure she doesn't do anything reckless, but she also needs some time for herself. ]

Why? Do you want to play with him?

I've only seen you at the park with him.

[ And she obviously needs comfort of some kind and Midorima is the worst at that? He has no idea how to help her besides sitting here and trying not to be as much of an ass as normal. ]

[ It's not like anybody can take Ruby's place. She's fine with just the company of some people. It's nice to know that she still has friends here. ]

Are you done? I can get the bill.

Don't bother. I can pull my own weight.

[ She doesn't have to pay for him!! ]

[ She's not going to ask him to pay for his food when she was the one who asked him to come here??

That's why instead of signalling a waiter to come by for the cheque, she gets up and heads to the counter so she can pay there. ]

Don't just ignore him!! Now he has to buy hers next time. This is going to be come a full-blown competition.

And I invited you here, so it only makes sense that I cover yours, too.

[ FINE!!! COMPETE WITH HER!!! She has more money than you, Midorima!!!!!!!!!! ]

[ He'll come in and pay her tab for like the next three meals and tell the guy not to tell her who did it. >B| She won't know who to combat!!! (Then realize he shouldn't have done that, he's not used to not having throw-around money..) ]

This once, though if I do invite you out somewhere, of course I'd pay for you, too. It'd be rude not to.

[ She thinks that it's only acceptable to split the bill if it's previously agreed upon or something... ]

[ If anything, it'll be for his pride more than for her.. ]

You don't have to pay for me every time we go somewhere.

[ He's not inviting her anywhere!! He'll just happen to be where he wants to go and mention it. ]

[ She just said it'd be rude not to... she's not going to treat him when they just happened to be in the same place at the same time lr anything though. Or any other circumstance beyond that. ]

[ With the receipt handed to her, she places it in her wallet and turns. ]

Sometimes I wish cars were more prominent in this place. [ While walking is good, the park's still a distance from here! ] I don't mind walking, but we can also take a carriage.

You don't have to pay for me any time we go somewhere.

[ He'll correct it then! ]

In Japan, our public transportation is so effective most people don't bother ever learning to drive or owning cars. Takao and I use a rear car and a bike. The carriages are fine.

[ He doesn't talk to a lot of people about Takao here. It brings up a strained feeling in the pit of his stomach, one he doesn't want to explain even if he's sure everyone here has it toward someone. Weiss obviously does, considering what happened with Ruby. It's duller now from time, but it hasn't gone away. He can't help but think it must be a lot worse fresh again. It's probably better they don't walk and get to the park so they can do something properly distracting for Weiss. ]

[ Drop the subject, Midorima!!! WEISS IS DONE WITH IT!!!

Weiss listens to Midorima, though, and as they leave the cafe and enter the streets, she looks around for a carriage to hail. Or maybe they can go to one of the waiting areas, either way, it seems that getting a carriage today is relatively easy. ]

We lived in dormitories in school, so all we had to do was walk to class. [ Or run, if they were late. Thanks, Ruby! ] But to travel to the city, we'd have to ride an airship.

[ He will, since he got the last word in!!

That's a new one though. ]

An air ship?

The ones we have in Remnant are a lot more advanced than the ones here, though. [ Unless Midorima's never ridden one before? Weiss looks at him briefly before she finally gets to hail a carriage.

Once in, she continues. ]

You can actually travel to Shaarnath and Theasthai on an airship, but the teleporters are definitely faster.
