[By the time Midorima shows up, Kise is like a small dragon, sitting on a pile of treasure (wooden chest, box of slinkies, plush fox, fuzzy chuzzle keychain and more) and looking to get even more. The current booth attendant looks intrigued because Kise's been at it for a while and he's yet to miss a single shot.

Kise doesn't spot Midorima arriving, especially if he hangs out in the back, and keeps making jokes with the attendant about "Christmas in July" because one of the trinkets is small music box with Christmas tree on it.]

What is the point of this trove?

[ He isn't in the business of sneaking up, but demanding. And so Midorima will demand information because he doesn't think Kise is the type to just collect random items like this. ]

[Thank whatever's out there that Kise doesn't scream in surprise. He can literally feel heart in his throat when Midorima speaks up next to him.]

Jeez, Midorimacchi, you'll give me a heart attack! [A few deep breaths (and a weird look from attendant), Kise pats at ruffled up front of his yukata and clears his throat.]

I'm just, you know, winning. I like to win! And these are the prizes.

[It's not like he's doing it to add more random stuff to Midorima's lucky item closet. Not at all.]

[ It's not like he's one of the shadows. He raises an eyebrow as he examines the pile. ]

It looks like the kind of prize hoard Akashi would start.

Would he? I'm honestly just interested in a wooden chest. [It looks like a pirate treasure chest, only smaller, to be used as a jewelry box.] It can hold trinkets like rings or bracelets. Take the stuff that catches your eye.

[ Not to insult him. Akashi is just on another level when it comes to carnivals and festivals, intentionally beating every game there is and collecting every prize around. Kise's is much more manageable and makes him want to throw it at his head a lot less. It's a nice pile. ]

For now it can hold your other prizes.

[It's said with smirk and grin, jokingly- he has no intention of going around and just winning stuff from everything, especially since Midorima came over to hang out with him. That would be just a waste of time.]

Let me finish up this one, since I paid for it already, and we'll go get some shaved ice!

[He goes back into a shooting position, takes an aim, and after few moments of focus he fires. Few shots later, all the ducks are down and the stall attendant is placing a music box with Christmas tree in front of him. Kise laughs,]

[ This dude probably has no idea what a Christmas tree is, he bets Kise is just rambling nonsense to him. Either way, once he's done, Midorima rearranges his pillow under his arm and turns to go. Better catch up, blondie. ]

[No, he doesn't really. He just thinks it's some kind of celebration- Kise didn't know how to explain it.

It's when they step away from the booth that Kise finally notices the "theme" of Midorima's outfit and goddamn this guy. How can someone with such stern face pull off such cute things!? It doesn't make any sense!]

Your outfit is very cute! You look really good in it! [He's not lying, at all! Midorima looks great in traditional clothes. And he does catch up.]

[ He's refusing compliments that call him cute, thank you very much. He looks at Kise for a moment to look at his yukata in person. A+. Being at a festival is rude because Midorima is not willing to push Kise up against a tree like he wants to because they are in public. He'll have to behave himself. ]

[The pattern is cute and Midorima will have to deal with it. He raises an eyebrow when Midorima checks him out (his expression is stern so Kise can only hope it is a good type of checking out). Id they could read each others thoughts still, they'd be both blushing because- yes. Pinning him against the tree is great idea.]

[When they leave the crowd, the stand with shaved ice comes into view and Kise happily saunters over to order two. And chooses blueberry and lemon as flavor for himself, he lets Midorima pick his own.]

No, there's nothing here that particularly stands out. Takao wanted to come to Amegahara and he can't afford a hotel room yet. It's a coincidence that I'm here.

[ Midorima orders a strawberry with condensed milk. ]

Uh-huh. [Yeah, he's not buying it. But he's also not saying that he's not buying it because that will make Midorima leave. So he just grins happily and pays for their treats.]

Well! It's a great coincidence then! We get wear yukatas and hang out a little.

I didn't follow it as religiously as you did, but I listened to it from time to time, especially before the matches.
