[ He stands up finally, using a hand to push Eichi back onto the bed, then rest his hands next to his head on the bed sheets. He just stares at him for a moment, intensely.. for a few seconds until his face falls because his hand hurts so he can't even try to pretend he's interested right now.
He sighs and backs away, then moves to sit down again, holding his left hand with his right. ]
He's sure he short circuits for a moment there, when he's suddenly put into a position like a harem manga protag. Ah, his heart... It's still racing, even when Midorima pulls back and moves away. That's not fair? How can he just do that and back off? That's not fair?]
Ah. Midorima-kun can't even stretch his "trying to be cool" act much longer than that right now, then?
[He sits up, busying himself with fixing his hair and standing up and turning around and definitely not being affected by whatever he just did at all.]
In that case, we should leave. Staying here won't benefit either of us, anyway. [He's not waiting to be okayed to check out, he's about to just walk out, come on. It's just skipping a step.]
[ Eichi had excellent timing for the text, luckily. Midorima assumes that it is actually his luck that is responsible for that with Cancer third in the rankings and his lucky item being of particular relation to Eichi: "concert." Though most of the day he's simply kept a concert program with him from one of the theater's productions, the fact that Eichi has offered to come over is the perfect opportunity for him to ask for a private concert. It's a perfectly reasonable request even though it's entirely selfish to expect him to actually do it, but Midorima is going to Midorima.
It is with this plan in mind that he completely has no idea that Eichi may be coming over with any kind of actual intent, and therefore looks slightly stunned when he opens the door. The blonde has caught him off guard, and wordlessly, the reason for his visit makes Midorima's nostrils flare slightly with a couple of sniffs.
He recognizes that smell. Before he says anything he looks to the side for a second, then adjusts his glasses and clears his throat, moving out of the way of the door. ]
Come in.
[ He... loves red bean soup so much... come in....... ]
[There's a reaction! Yes!! Eichi smiles brightly, pleased by this so far, and steps inside. He'll help himself to moving towards the kitchen to set this down, expecting Midorima to follow behind.]
Since you said it was your favorite, I tried my hand at making some red bean soup. I thought it was cold enough to prepare it hot...
[He peeks over his shoulder as he sets the pot down somewhere nice.]
[Even if he's not the most stable right now, he's not going to feel good about himself if he needs to be carried or tugged along. So. He'll make it work. He's not paralyzed anymore, so he can do it.]
[Midorima really is adorable, isn't he. "I suppose?" Eichi doesn't say anything about that line, but he sure is giving him a knowing look as he reaches to take those bowls from him. Let him serve it!
Because he's only giving himself a very tiny serving. He's been taste testing red bean soup for over 24 hours. Midorima gets the nice serving.]
[ Midorima doesn't know that. But Eichi is about to find out that the reason that he only eats a little bit at regular meals because he happily will pop open a can of red bean soup in between them.
Fresh and homemade is definitely a step up. He sits down at the table as soon as he's handed over the bowls and spoons. ]
You made this yourself?
[ Once served, he tries not to look too eager but has a spoon in the soup and then in his mouth after a delay of three seconds that are a little too obviously him intentionally waiting to taste it. ]
[Come on... He's leaving this room and already ripping the bracelet off his wrist, look at this rebel. You can tell he breaks out of hospitals all the time. Honestly, the nurses probably are used to it enough that they won't even blink at him leaving without checking out...]
I intend to make sure that that plant hasn't taken over my apartment complex. Safely, of course... Are you coming back there with me?
[It was His Project. Even if Keito helped with his fingie burns. He unwraps his scarf a little as he sits down, more focused on watching Midorima than taking his own taste right now. Though Eichi isn't saying how hard he worked on this, his efforts will show. He followed the recipe perfectly, and after enough practice to get the art of it down as well, he's done it well! Not like any perfect chef, but. Good.]
You're coming home with me. Call an exterminator, the door is still unlocked. You're not going back to the scene that just put us both in the hospital.
[ There are a million people here who regularly fight monsters and stuff all the time, the two of them should not be handling it. ]
[ Once Midorima tastes it, he feels a warmth in his chest. From the soup, yes, but no one's ever made him properly homemade food and brought it just for him for seemingly no reason. Tsumugi makes him food regularly, but largely because he can't cook and that was part of their agreement-- it's the reason Midorima does a larger share of the cleaning, because he doesn't think that Tsumugi should be the only one putting in effort for their home. But Eichi did this just because he wanted Midorima to have it, presumably. At least he hasn't asked for anything yet, and Midorima hopes he doesn't.
He doesn't really know how to deal with this. He pushes up his glasses. His brain is malfunctioning a little. After a few seconds of silence he takes another bite, still staying quiet, then looks up at Eichi and takes a deep breath with a huff toward the end. ]
This is hardly the first time this world has experienced a pest invasion. If the natives don't have one, there's certainly some moonblessed from a harsher world you can ask.
[ Midorima heads to the nurse's station to let them know they're leaving, though he simply gives them their names and states that they're checking out. It's only polite to at least notify them, even if he's not sticking around to do Eichi's paperwork. They can mail it to him. He's already done his. ]
You purchased magic?
[ It's not like he knows what he's looking for, as far as he knows Eichi got electrocuted by the vine plant. ]
[Honestly, he wonders how he's learned to deal with this tsundere. "It's hard to go wrong?" That's all? Does he have any idea how many times he almost burned down the apartments from leaving the stove too high? His burnt fingers?? How one time it boiled over so badly that he couldn't get to it to stop it without making even more mess?
But, as much as he wants to be recognized for his efforts, or to hear that he did a good job, he doesn't want to make this about that. He knows what's meant by Midorima's actions, and that's amusing enough.
He takes his own little spoonful, keeping his lips around it for a moment too long as he contemplates Midorima's little huff. It's cute.]
[He ends up waiting for Midorima without any complaints, though he's still curling his fingers and staring at his hands once he comes back. They begin to walk again, and Eichi glances over.]
Rather, the magic that we already receive with each moon... I bought a bracelet that supposedly would make it permanent after I put it on once. It worked. Iris is associated with electricity magic, it seems, though I can't do much like this.
[ Midorima isn't good at handling things like gratitude or people worrying about him. There have been some occasions when Takao recognized him flat-out freezing up because he didn't know how to deal with it and intentionally gave him an excuse for the behavior. As much as Midorima gets prickly when he is the forward one, he flat out doesn't know what to do when someone does something like this for him. He's ornery and stubborn and selfish and it makes it very difficult for people to get close to him, or it used to. Getting better at being forward with others and being less assholish has allowed for people to care for him in different ways, and he legitimately doesn't know what to do when he's this happy about it.
He looks at Eichi as he says you're welcome, as if Midorima had said thank you, and he gives him a small nod, looking for and taking another bite. He's gonna eat the whole bowl quietly and then hold it out for seconds if Eichi lets him!!! ]
Fufu... Is it so surprising that I made it for you that you're stunned into silence?
[He has to speak, once he's handed the bowl for seconds. He slides his own bowl over for Midorima to finish (it's a small amount anyway) as he stands to get him refills for his original.]
I can't finish that, so I assume you won't want it to go to waste? [He's so done with this, but. It's nice to see it enjoyed.] It's yours, so you can simply return the pot once you've finished with it all.
