I wouldn't mind teaching you sometime if you're willing to learn.
[ ...Though no one probably wants to learn all of the rules of luck, especially since Midorima probably made half of the ones he goes by up, like how bigger items are luckier than smaller items unless it's something small and cute like it's basically what Midorima wants to do Midorima is going to do. ]
Kise was almost surprised that Midorima offered something to do himself but then he remembered it was about lucky items. Right. Well- Kise would be lying if he isn't curious at this point.]
I am actually curious now How come all those lucky items work better with you than with anyone else? Did you marry Lady Luck xD?
[Despite this world's oddities and inconveniences, one of the not-so-bad things about being stuck in Prismatica was having more time for hobbies. Charles had found time for music, to be precise.
He was coming out of a nearby music store after replacing the strings on his violin when he notices Midorima crossing his path. In order to provide a collision, he draws back, making sure he doesn't hit Midorima with his violin case either.]
[ Midorima owns a piano, which means that there are certain items he needs to keep it in top condition. One of those items is a tuning fork, which thanks to a series of events that he can only attribute to not having been able to obtain his lucky item until 10am that morning instead of his usual first-thing-in-the-morning routine, resulted in his tuning fork at the bottom of a pond at the park. It was a long story.
But he has a photo of his lucky item in his polo shirt pocket now, a pedestrian footbridge (not something he could take with him, and is well on his way to remedying the tragic disaster that occurred to his old tuning fork. The photograph is clearly working, he notes, as if he hadn't had it surely the person before him would've run into him with his violin. ]
I'm fine. Is your instrument okay?
[ Yes, he's asking about the instrument instead of Charles. ]
[He's not offended at all that Midorima asked about the instrument. Violins aren't cheap - and honestly, being a Servant, it would take a lot more than running into someone else to hurt him.
Charles holds up his violin case. While he's sure it hadn't struck anything, he can't help but look it over for any scuffs or scratches.]
Yes, it is. [Then he gets a little curious. It would be nice to find friends with whom he could practice or talk about music.] Do you play the violin too?
That's impressive. [If only this guy got to meet Mozart and Salieri while they were running around in this world. They would've wanted to meet him...and quite possibly use his piano if they could.] How long have you been playing?
[ It was a gift; one he views as very serendipitous even if the person who gifted it would refuse to admit as much. What kind of coincidence is it that your roommate, who you find because you're both superstitious and have to solve a luck-related problem together upon apartment searching, happens to have a chroma-rich friend who thinks he can buy his way into people's lives only for Midorima to refuse to accept his presence until he cut the shit? And for him to gain an interest in Midorima simply because Midorima reminded him of his also grumpy, green-haired, glasses-laden childhood friend who he had missed at the time. That's a lot of coincidences to line up that resulted in Midorima getting close to not just Eichi, but both of his favorite people here. The piano then gave cause for Weiss to start coming over as well, after all. He's not sure what you would call it other than lucky. ]
Since I was a child. My mother taught me. [ There's a brief, but obvious pause. Midorima's still bad at.. well, people. But he's getting better. He's not as self-absorbed anymore, even if it takes him a little while to remember. ] Tell me about your violin experience.
[ Violinists certainly aren't common here, and he is curious. ]
[ He can only see the case, after all. The violin inside it could've been ancient, or it could have been empty. Who knows. But if this person is out of practice and in another world, that seems the most likely solution. Unless he's a native, anyway. ]
[ She'll leave the bossing around of Tsumugi to him, then!
And now that they have their food, Weiss is going to take a quick picture of both their orders for Prismagram. (She is using the app to its full capacity!!) Once that's done? It is time to eat. ]
[That...was abrupt. Not even a "please" or "if you don't mind". It sounded more like a command than anything. But he has not much else to do, and they were already here, right next to the shop.]
Oh, of course. They're at the back, near the keyboards. [Sometimes he looked at other instruments instead of focusing on violins, and he had asked a few questions himself about tuning forks. They're not easy to miss. Charles turns to walk back into the shop, gesturing for Midorima to follow him.]
