[ It's a very simple answer. He doesn't want her to have any confusion about it. He actually likes cultural events and things like that, so he's not against checking it out. Flowers are nice anyway. He intends to have some tea underneath a flowering tree. Preferrably a cherry blossom, but he'll understand if it can't be done. He doesn't know the area it takes place in. ]

In Japan around this time of year, there are hundreds of cherry blossom trees that bloom and we have Hanami. People take their families out to view them, drink tea and eat snacks. I imagined it to be similar to that.
